This exhibition brings together six diverse practitioners to explore the contemporary wearable as a direct and transformative tool to engage with the world, mark experience and forge meaning through tactile interaction. Staying deeply attuned to the shifting conditions of the world, artists employ the skin as an active participant of the work, while building on traditional wearable contexts to cultivate the gallery itself as a ‘body’ to clothe. The artists are driven by explorations of materiality and process allowing them to explore how the wearable sculptural object shapes memory, identity and connection.
